Daydreaming was my way of escaping the reality of the world around me, and it got me into trouble at school and at home.

I’ve spent a lifetime creating the perfect universe where I can change the outcome of unpleasant circumstances and rewrite and retell a story to elevate my lived experience and the lives of others to maintain a reasonable level of sanity. I have observed the world for over fifty years; humane relationships aren’t getting any better. Technology has expanded alternate realities into worlds that can provide a more realistic escape, and some of them are unbelievable, or are they? Families are reconfigured, and communities are comprised of multicultural rituals and diverse political beliefs. Community Connection is about the virtual reality of a community that genuinely cares for one another, where everyone is made aware of the resources available to them as members of the human race. There may be a mother or father out there without the support they need to make it to the next sunrise, a young girl looking for an actual father figure to protect her from the heartbreak of lost innocence, or a hungry child waiting on a parent to return home after a week of abusing drugs.

Young black men are standing on street corners holding signs, asking for a quarter or a dollar. How can the community address this problem together? It will require a team of caring, compassionate individuals to establish relationships. It is time for us to act now to build a community that deals with the systemic decay of people, our communities, and our nation. Get connected and band together to help those in need, saving one life, one family, and one community at a time. Who do you know that can lead and lend a hand to help someone in the valley of life? This time next year, we hope to have helped 1000 families achieve socio-economic self-sufficiency.

The fun is in the work, realizing one individual’s transformation and giving them the tools to live a life with dignity. The fun is in the community reunions at a local park, celebrating victories and sharing memories. The fun is in the community and family united in love. Fun is when our daydreams become something tangible and real.
