Shelters

Adequate shelter is a fundamental part of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, yet many individuals sleep on the streets or in their cars. Communities often struggle with deterioration and gentrification, which displaces long-standing residents, particularly people of color.

Not everyone has a safe place to go during financial hardship, when children need secure environments, or during severe weather. Shelters can provide essential support, creating not only safe havens but also job opportunities for those who manage them.

Day shelters, which offer access to showers, meals, and resources, can also connect individuals to job training and mental health support. If this cause resonates with you, please consider donating or volunteering your time. Together, we can help those in need regain stability and dignity. Your contribution can have a significant impact.
