Civic Engagement

At Civic Engagement, we are dedicated to helping individuals understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the United States of America, enabling them to make sound political decisions that impact their communities and the country.

Community Connection utilizes the resources of nonpartisan organizations to help us understand the power of knowing our rights and responsibilities as citizens. We believe that the right to vote is a powerful tool for securing justice for everyone. However, without knowledge of these rights and coordinated strategic actions, we risk passing down to the next generation the difficulties of our current situation of racial and caste discrimination. Please visit the websites below.

The NAACP, or National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, was established in 1909 to advocate for justice for people of color.

The ACLU, or American Civil Liberties Union, is another organization dedicated to educating citizens about their rights in the United States.

I WILL VOTE because my vote is my voice and my power. Please let us know when you register to vote.

We also endure economic disparities due to a widening wealth gap caused by several barriers, including, but not limited to, educational opportunities, equality in employment, and access to adequate health care. Many of our people are disqualified due to unresolved criminal record expungement. This is urgent and calls for significant collective action.
